Senator Sonny Angara became the latest lawmaker to admit that he tested positive for COVID-19 and in the process became the third senator to get the dreaded respiratory disease.
Angara revealed that he took the COVID-19 test last March 16 and learned that he is positive.
Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri was the first senator get sick with the virus and was followed by former Senate President Koko Pimentel.
But unlike Pimentel, who caused a public uproar after breaking strict quarantine protocols and went shopping, partying and accompanied his wife to Makati Medical Center despite knowing he has COVID-19 like symptoms prior to confirmation, Angara went to quarantine after he manifested symptoms of mild fever, cough, headaches and general weakness.
Moreover, Angara added he he strictly adhered to home quarantine and interaction with anyone. to a home quarantine protocol when the test result was not released yet.
In his official Facebook page, Angara reiterated the need to show the country’s appreciation to all front liners in the fight against the pandemic.
