DOH announces recovery of two COVID-19 patients; total number of recoveries now at 28

The Department of Health announces the recovery of two COVID-19 patients as more positive cases are being reported.

The first patient with a travel history to Japan, is patient 112, a 41-year old Filipino male from Makati City.

After arriving in the Philippines, he tested positive for COVID-19 last March 14. With strict confinement, he was found asymptomatic with 1 negative result on March 21. The patient was able to recover from the pandemic.

The second recovery is a 69-year old Filipino male from Marikina City. Without any history of travel, the patient experienced onset of symptoms on February 29 and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 last March 10.

The DOH added that 28 patients have recovered so far from the respiratory disease.

There are at least 71 new confirmed cases bringing the country’s total to 707.

Health Sec. Francisco Duque III, says the continuing surge of cases this March is due to the country’s capability in providing more testing kits compared to the previous month.
