DOH records 90 new cases; total number of cases for COVID-19 pandemic surges to 552

The Department of Health has recorded the biggest jump of COVID-19 positive cases in a single day after 90 more patients tested positive of dreaded respiratory disease.

With this development, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has jump to 552.

The DOH has also confirmed the death of two more patients because of the pandemic.

The first fatality was Patient 215, a 71-year-old Filipino male from Quezon City without any travel and exposure history. He was confirmed positive of COVID19 last March 18. He has pre-existing medical conditions of hypertension and diabetes.

The second fatality was a 76-year old Filipino male from Cavite. DOH said the patient had a history of ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction and diabetes before testing positive of COVID-19.

The country’s death toll because of the pandemic is now at 35.
