President Duterte has ordered all government agencies to work to ensure the “speedy delivery” of medical supplies needed in battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
The chief executive has particularly tasked the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to ensure the continuous delivery of much needed medical equipment and other supplies despite the Luzon-lockdown.
In response, the DOTr vowed to implement the President’s directive.
“This will guarantee the unhampered movement of cargo in and out of the ports of Manila, thus, ensuring uninterrupted domestic supply chain despite the 30-day enhanced community quarantine,” the DOTr said in a statement.
The DOTr likewise called on designated authorities in cutting the red tape for expedited delivery of medical supplies and equipment so transport vehicles can deliver the cargo to hospitals all over Luzon.
