At least 387 workers are going to lose their jobs as Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is set to close its factory in Sta. Rosa, Laguna this March.
In a statement, HCPI says in order to meet customer demands in the Philippines for reasonably priced and good quality products, it has to consider efficient allocation and distribution of resource.
Despite letting go of its employees, Honda has assured them that they be provided compensation that is more than what the law provides.
HCPI likewise vowed to provide highly attractive products to its patrons in the country. The car company will continue to support the Philippines which it has been doing for the last 50 years.
The HCPI factory has the capacity to produce 600 units every month. It has built approximately 8,000 units in 2019.
