The Philippine National Police (PNP) has ordered more checkpoints in areas under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
All police commanders and units were ordered to immediately put up checkpoints in barangays and main thoroughfares of the National Capital Region (NCR) and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.
PNP Chief Archie Gamboa said the police frontliners will impose stricter checkpoints. The MECQ guidelines state that only one person will be authorized to go out to buy basic needs for each household to avoid non-essential travels. Quarantine pass will also be mandatory for Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) and to be presented at the checkpoints.
