Roque ready to name corrupt senior executives in PhilHealth

Following a controversial remark against Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) President Ricardo Morales over alleged corruption, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that he is ready to reveal the names of its senior executives involved in the anomalies.

“Mayroon po tayong hinahanda at ialalagay po natin ang lahat ng mga pangalan ng mga senior executives sa tingin namin ay talagang responsable sa mga korapsiyon diyan sa PhilHealth,” the Palace official said.

Roque also apologized to honest PhilHealth staff and personnel if they are getting dragged in the controversy of the agency, saying that he believes that the majority of the employees have integrity and only a few are involved in corruption.

“I’m sorry po to the honest-to-goodness, matitinong tao po na nagtatrabaho sa PhilHealth. In fairness, napakadaming matitino po diyan, halos lahat matitino, mayroon lang talagang mga bugok,” he added.

Roque earlier called out Morales for his inaction in the alleged corruption within his agency and lamented that the lack of funds in PhilHealth is due to the wrongdoings of some of its officials.

PhilHealth also appealed to delay the implementation of the Universal Healthcare (UHC) Law because of the agency’s depleted funds.
