ZCMC Marks 36 Years of Free Bible Education as Filipinos Reflect on True Freedom During Independence Day | Nearly 2,000 pastors, students, volunteers, and guests join nationwide anniversary celebrations highlighting faith, biblical truth, and spiritual freedom
As the Philippines commemorated Independence Day and celebrated the nation’s hard-earned freedom, Zion Christian Mission Center (ZCMC) invited Filipinos to reflect on another form of liberation—one rooted in faith, truth, and a deeper understanding of God’s Word.
Coinciding with the national holiday, ZCMC celebrated its 36th Founding Anniversary through simultaneous gatherings in 27 locations across the country, bringing together nearly 2,000 participants, including pastors, Bible instructors, students, alumni, volunteers, and invited guests. Major celebrations took place in Pasig City, Cavite, Pampanga, Cebu, and Davao, highlighting the organization’s continued growth and nationwide reach.
Carrying the theme “One Faith, One Light, We Rise and Shine,” the anniversary served as both a thanksgiving celebration and a renewed commitment to ZCMC’s mission of providing free Bible education to learners from all walks of life. The event emphasized how biblical education can guide individuals toward a life of faith, purpose, and hope while encouraging believers to become instruments of light within their communities.
Independence and Spiritual Freedom
With the anniversary coinciding with the country’s Independence Day observance, organizers drew meaningful parallels between national freedom and the biblical concept of spiritual freedom.
Rather than viewing freedom solely through a historical or political lens, the celebration encouraged participants to reflect on the freedom that comes from understanding God’s truth and living according to His purpose.
“As the Philippines celebrates Independence Day, we are reminded that freedom is one of humanity’s most cherished blessings,” said Abigail Saguid, president of ZCMC Philippines.
“While many define freedom as the ability to do whatever they want, true freedom comes from knowing God’s truth and living according to His purpose. It is experienced when people are freed from spiritual confusion and guided by the light of God’s Word. Through evangelism and Bible education, we help people discover that truth, as well as the hope and salvation God has promised to all.”
The message resonated with attendees who shared how studying Scripture has strengthened their faith, provided clarity during life’s challenges, and deepened their understanding of God’s promises.
Celebrating 36 Years of Biblical Education
Founded in 1990, ZCMC has steadily expanded from a theology institution into an international provider of structured Bible education, offering accessible learning opportunities for people seeking a deeper understanding of Scripture.
Unlike traditional theological programs that may require tuition fees, ZCMC provides its courses completely free of charge, making biblical learning accessible regardless of one’s financial background.
Its curriculum is available through multiple learning formats, including classroom instruction, live online classes, and self-paced study modules, enabling students to learn according to their own schedules while receiving systematic Bible education.
Over the past three decades, the institution has welcomed learners from diverse professions, age groups, and religious backgrounds who share a common desire to understand the Bible more deeply.
Faith That Inspires Service
Beyond commemorating another milestone, organizers emphasized that the anniversary celebration was also an opportunity to reaffirm the organization’s mission of evangelism and Christian discipleship.
Throughout the nationwide gatherings, participants reflected on how biblical education inspires believers not only to strengthen their personal relationship with God but also to become active contributors within their families, churches, and communities.
The theme, “One Faith, One Light, We Rise and Shine,” underscored the belief that individuals united by faith can positively influence society through compassion, service, and the sharing of God’s Word.
Organizers noted that people from different backgrounds, professions, and life experiences came together under one purpose—to continue learning, growing spiritually, and helping others discover biblical truth.
Continuing Its Global Mission
As ZCMC enters its 37th year, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to quality Bible education both in the Philippines and internationally.
The institution continues to develop learning platforms that make theological education more convenient and accessible, allowing individuals to study wherever they are.
Whether through onsite classes, virtual learning environments, or self-paced digital programs, ZCMC aims to equip more people with a stronger biblical foundation while encouraging lives centered on faith, purpose, and service.
For individuals interested in exploring the Bible in a structured and accessible way, ZCMC continues to offer free theology courses designed for beginners as well as those seeking deeper biblical knowledge.
Prospective students may enroll through the organization’s online registration platforms or access its Self-Paced Study (SPS) mobile learning program, which allows learners to study anytime and anywhere.
As Filipinos celebrated the freedoms won through history, ZCMC’s anniversary offered a timely reminder that, for many believers, understanding God’s Word represents another journey toward freedom—one that shapes character, strengthens faith, and inspires lives dedicated to truth, hope, and service.
